Okay, I have to admit, I was pretty excited about fall come September this year. I grew up in a steady heat of 80ºF and 80% humidity year round, with the exception of some slightly cooler and drier months at the beginning of each year, but nothing extreme. I don’t mind dressing for summer, but a little layering goes a long way on the style scale, am I right? So I was really happy to break out every possible item of clothing that can turn into a layer as soon as the temperature dropped to 60ºF. Whether it be outerwear like blazers, jackets or coats; accessories like scarves and hats; or inner layers like turtlenecks, tights and socks. This is when we get to play the most. A really fun way to layer for, and transition into fall is wearing socks with your sandals. It’s super polarizing but I am not in the business of playing it safe all the time when it comes to fashion. I loved mixing this semi-sheer and sparkly pair from Hysteria Socks with my beautiful PVC + leather Olympia sandals from Maryam Nassir Zadeh. The combination makes for a great game of translucency and illusion, plus it keeps my feet warm—so there you go.
